Throw Out Bearing?
This morning when I go to start my car I press the clutch in to start it up. When I push down on the pedal at about middle of the pedal travel I hear this ticking sound. It happens either depressing or pressing down. Ist his the throw out bearing? It never made this noise up until this morning. Is just the unnormaily cold weather possible cause of this? What is the worse can happen with a noisy t.o bearing?
Could be the springs in the clutch disc "chattering"
throw out bearings make a low groan/humming noise when bad/dry..
the previous owner of my car installed an aftermarket clutch and my clutch disc springs chatter very similiar to the sound of a valve clatter... that clatter is the springs on the disc assy.. does it cause any harm?? not unless one of those springs break.. I don't worry about it ...
