This morning when I go to start my car I press the clutch in to start it up. When I push down on the pedal at about middle of the pedal travel I hear this ticking sound. It happens either depressing or pressing down. Ist his the throw out bearing? It never made this noise up until this morning. Is just the unnormaily cold weather possible cause of this? What is the worse can happen with a noisy t.o bearing?

 

If it's just one click each way, it's most likely the throwout bearing binding a bit on the input shaft. Not a huge deal, but if it sticks too much sometime, you'll lose use of your clutch. If you've got over 50k on your car, it might be worth it to have it changed and it wouldn't hurt to do clutch/pressure plate while you're in there.
