Better or Worse? - I removed these fender strip thingies from one side of my car
I've been working on performance stuff, but, lately I've been wanting to make my car look much better.
Anyways, I removed these fender cover/liner/doo-dad thingies off one-side and Im looking for opinions on whether I should take the other side off, or put this side back on.
Heres a close-up of what Im talking about:
Heres the drivers side with those ^ things still on:
Heres the passenger side with those ^ things removed:
Your opinion please...
1 - throw em in the trash
2 - put em back on
And no cracks on my steelies & snow tires, I just put em on today. ~the snow is coming, the snow is coming~
And Im repainting the car in spring so I'll be taking care of all that rust crap. And if you want to see even more pictures of these things, go here-> http://pages.sssnet.com/mikey/integra/wheelwells/

PS. The paint color looks funny because I got a rag and wiped off the gobs of salt/wax/etc build-up. If it wasn't 30 degrees outside, I'd wash the car
oooo your car is just as faded as mine
Take em off, moisture gets trapped under those and sits there which in the long run leads to rust. If you dont care about that it looks better with them off too.

Ok, they're OFF! Woohoo!
It does look much better!
Drivers side wasn't too bad rust-wise, but the passenger side has a ton of rust bubbling up. Oh well, its getting fixed up in spring.

Yeah, I think it is a 97 Type R style Lip from Comptech... That is the same one I have on my car. His car looks like a 94 or a 95. Yeah, I didn't have those strips on my car either.
damn that car looks brand new! what year is that?
...thanks!
Yo man, is that the ITR front lip??
Off.
As for where they come from...my old accord had them. My new integra had them when I bought it. I think dealers like to put them on to prevent door dings and what-not, and that is their only purpose.

its a '95, im just good with my detailing
...thanks!
what do u use to detail that bad boy, please do tell
3M swirl mark remover
3M cleaner wax
3M Imperial hand glaze
Klasse Sealant glaze
Blitz One Grand Caranuba Wax
then i use 3M show car wax or a Meguairs Gold Class or other synthetic wax to seal it in, and i use Meguairs Quik Detailer in between washes and polishes to keep it shiny
i bought my 94Ls used...came with no mud flaps ( thank god ) BUT those pieces are only on the back of the car....
It certainly looks better with them off. My 95 (which I bought brand new) had similar things on it...but only on the back. And they only covered the fender lip - they weren't really visible from the side of the car.
I had to trash mine after rolling the fenders to accomodate my 225-45-15 Hoosier road race tires. Mmm...sticky
