Default My first Dyno Tunning Session Ever!

Well, finally got the V-AFC installed, so I decided to go for a dyno tunning session. Called a local shop and set up a time for this Wednesday. Hopefully everything should go well. Right now my mod list consists of:

JDM 4-1 Jet-Hot Coated
Carsound Cat.
Comptech Icebox
V-AFC w/ harness from Kenji

Not expecting a huge difference, but I mainly doing the session to get the guy to set up the V-AFC for me.

Anything you guys think I need to know going in to this? Any suggestions, or comments?

Thanks!

Chris - Hope everything goes well. I'm interested to see what kind of numbers you are producing. Dave will be watching too since he's going to buy your header and Cat, and then get a Comptech Icebox for Christmas. Dave's car pulls on mine pretty good in third gear now that he has that reprogramed ECU from TEGFREAK.

Mr. JDM,

Whichever SRD uses. One better than the other?

Sounds pretty cool Chris, can't wait to see the results Josh-I don't pull on you that much and remember I'm 40lbs lighter.

I'm VERY interested int he results, i have a JDM 4-1, Carsound Cat, AEM, and Fields SFC-VTEC, very similair setup, i'll be dynotuning soon as well, according to mike k, your best bet will be vtec around 4800, (give or take, it differ's per car), richen it up in the midrange, lean her out up top. but most definitely post your results!

At the ATL dyno meet, we had an opportunity to see Black R's wide-band A:F output... even though he has cams there was an unbelievable leaning at ~4,500 rpm range due to AEM. I think in his setup, it leaned way up to ~14.5:1 or something ridiculous @ ~4,500. He tuned his vafc, but I believe he couldn't get it to 13.5:1 - 13.1:1 range in the A:F spike. However, he was able to tune the fuel from 2,000 - 8,500 rpm (minus ~4,500 spike) with VAFC. IM him and ask for his dyno chart or A:F chart. It was a learning experience for sure.

BTW, does anyone know what causes AEM CAI to give that funny spike at ~4,500 rpm? Design flaw?

Looking forward to you guy's dyno results!

[Edit] here's the un-tuned a:f ratio of Black R's dyno. Not stock cams, but you get the idea about AEM spike. [/Edit]
