'94 Accord or '97 Civic?
I posted this in the Civic forum too, I'm trying to get opinions from Accord owners and Civic owners to see what the deal is...
Alright, I'm shopping for a new Honda, and a total newbie to this forum. My '91 Accord LX has run its course, with over 250k miles on it, I'm not putting money in
it any longer.
The two cars I'm looking at are as follows, I'm wondering if any of you have any advice on which is the better deal and which is going to cost more to get in shape. I had both looked at by my mechanic, but he didn't really lean one way or the other. Whichever car I get I want to keep for abount 2-3 years until I can purchase something new. Thanks in advance!!
'94 Accord LX - 4-Door, Black, w/ 91k miles. Broken side view mirror, small dent in rear passenger door. Possible CV joint/s needs replacement (it's making a loud hum/noise when I hold the gas steady around 30-35 mph). Needs brakes and rotors. Small paint chips on back end and front bumper. Perfect interior. $4000.
'97 Civic EX - 4-Door, White, w/ 102k miles. Miscellaneous fuel-injection problem (RPMs bounce up and down while in park), P301 and P303 misfire codes, needs brakes and rotors. Exterior paint is overall very dull & chipped. Sunroof & CD player. Perfect interior. $4000.
The shop I'd buy them from has offered to replace the brakes and rotors on either before I buy. The rest is up to me. Soooo...yeah I'm torn between the two.

Honestly I wouldn't buy either. The price seems a little high for both cars, but that could depend on where you located. I would buy an accord definately
, but I would buy one in good condition with high mileage or a blown engine and put an h22 in it asap. You should be able to pic up a busted 5th gen pretty easy, just shop around some. Hope that helps
