Default H22 EG axle problems!!

alright i got the motor up and running and drove it home from philly ( about 70 miles of driving) and a couple thing happened. 1. when i was driving it started pulling really really hard to the left. 2. next it felt like someone was pulling the wheel then letting go, then pulling, then letting go.... constantly like that every now and then. 3. a lot of grinding noise coming from making hard left and right turns.

i was wondering what these symptoms could lead too?? was it from my axle binding?

so today i took my bro out for a spin and when letting go of the clutch into second gear it popped. so i reached my hand under the car, and the drivers side axle was broken. i could stick my hand in the rubber part of the axle by the rotor. i dunno that much about axles sorry. so was all of that due to binding? i am using the 93 accord intermediate shaft, with the 90-93 teggy axles. should i step down to the slightly smaller 89 teg axle on the drivers side? the passenger side is fine!

I posted this in the hybrid forum first, but it moves like molasses, and I need to know real soon this is my only car!

and also i checked it out from underneath the car and the rotor side boot got ripped off, not torn, just ripped off. i don't know if i can shove the axle back in there and keep driving till i get the right axles, or do i need to replace it??

thanks everyone

Try running the 89 teg axles on the driver's side and leave the 91-93 in the passenger side. If you can gather up the funds in the future, I highly suggest upgrading axles

Definitely NOT Raxles. Go with DSS if you can afford it. I'm running a custom Prodrive setup but I guarantee you with the money I spent on them I could have gotten at least 2 or 3 sets of DSS axles.

actualy i recomend hasport axles. I think they are particulary new to the H but they work real well for me..

I think they run around 250 for the set? But its definitly worth it.

can you order just one?? i just bought the 89 teg axle and just got done slapping it on, i don't think it will work though... to tight. but i am waiting for my air filter to dry cause i just cleaned it, then i will let ya know if that worked. i don't see why their axles wouldn't work good, i mean i am using their mounts!! and their wiring kit too!!

bump it up!!!

i put the new axle on and it seems to be holding pretty darn good. i am still breaking in the clutch so im not really beating on it too bad , but after another couple hundred miles ill see just how well those axles are holding!

anyone else have any other ideas besides DSS and Hasport axles that are worth giving me a heads up about??

Sounds like ur axles are rubbing on the forks. try to fabricate them so that they dont rub against the fork by adjusting the axles trust me i had this problem when i had my 95 H22 hatch and i had DSS axles its no biggy though easy fix
