Hey all. I'm about to install a y8 metal headgasket on my d16a6. I was wondering if anyone knows how to safely remove the middle layer for that added boost in compression. I have seen many threads talking about whether or not this is a good idea. But I'd like a few more opinions on the issue and maybe a how-to. Thanks in Advance.

 

i always just take it to a machine shop. you can DIY if you have a drill press or a very good hand. but i wouldn't do it myself.
