I don't think that I did, and thats what matters

Stick to your ED/EF Si tranny since it is a cable tranny. You could use the hydro tranny, but it would cost more.

well the si tranny i have now needs a new clutch and i think the sycros are fucked cause when i shift fast into second and third it grinds so i dunno which would be cheaper to put a new clutch and have that fixed or just get the hydro tranny and put a clutch in it
If you do choose to go w/ the hydro tranny you will need to buy an adaptor for several hundred.
I would suggest to get a stock replacement clutch kit for the Si tranny (aprox $115) and a couple of quarts of GM Synchromesh Friction Modefied tranny fluid & call it a day.

Yes it will, thats it's purpose. It doesn't guarentee a 'like new' tranny, but it helped me almost completly take away the grinds in my tranny. If your tranny is really bad I would suggest trying to find a used Si tranny, or search for a rebuilt Si/ZC tranny. I believe that a user named Davens, or something along those lines sells them(Si/ZC Hybrids), and it should be a great tranny for your application. HTH.

Then try the GM Synchromesh Friction Modefied. I'd start w/ the cheap things first. I had an awful 3rd gear grind in a tranny which forced me to shift at or below 25 mph, after putting in the GM stuff, and running it for about 500 miles I am now able to bring it to redline in 2nd & shift into 3rd w/o any grinds. I have been using this stuff in there for almost 1year now & it still works perfect!
$350 for a dohc zc from san diego but i dont know how much to ship but the motors are hella clean there let me know if you need me to get there #
