Default stripped rotor screws

Jsut wandering if anyone has any suggestion on how to remove these things. They are too stripped to use a impact driver. The only thing i can come up with, is to drill them out. Just wandering if there is a particular type of bit i can use to yeild faster results.

peace,

Take a dremel(sp?) and cut a slot on the top of it... then try your impact driver with a flat tip.

take a small flat chisel and a hammer. and chisel it on the head at and angle and try to make it turn. usually works most of the time i do it.

if you had an impact driver how did you end up stripping them in the first place?

drill them out will a 9 ot 10 mm bit i dont know what that is in inch but drill right down the middle then the screw head should come off, after that take the rotor out and you can take the threaded parts of the screw off by hand

jsut did it today, replace all 8 of em after the impact scredriver and the airgun wouldnt get it off, we just used a chisel and a hammer and hit it at the angle that would spin it out and it boogered them up, but they all came out

if you are replacing the rotor just break it off then use vise grips to spin the screw out it's a lot safer than an impact driver cause with that you could mess up your distibutor shaft

i found that simply drilling them out with some titanium bits, was the best option.

but since you asked. Do you have any pointers for those having problems with the ignition screw?

well, i broke my ignition screw! i over tighten it and the head broke off. so today i went over to my friends house and we used a 5/16th drill bit to drill a small hole and then we used a bolt extractor and it came right out without breaking the threads. he has a semi spare dizzy around and we just took out bolts that fit and we found one and used a dremel to cut it to size, when i put on the screw, i put a drop of lock tite on.

edit- this is what the screw looked like when i broke it.
