Default New R

Hey everyone, I just got type-r 847. I won her off ebay at 16,600 with about 50k miles. Luckily the seller was local so I was able to check it out.
Mods are:
Comptech intake/box
Comptech headers
Comptech cat back exhaust
High flow cat (engine light comes up, anyone why?)
I bought jdm R optional side skirts and rear valences, but they are not installed yet.
OBX pedals
jdm shift boot(red stitches)
Clifford G4 alarm(yes, i know this isn't enough)
Pioneer sound system-
four tweeters(replaced the front two in the doors and added two more in the back
four 6 1/2 rev series speakers
one 480 watt four channel amp
one 790 watt two channel amp
two 12 inch pioneer woofers

I kno that this isn't a ITR, but my bro was begging me to have his car up, obviously, it's an rsx with an ings body kit. and eibach pro kit, konig trouble rims, and nitto neogens, jdm headlights, type r wing.
so tell me what you guys think about the itr and rsx. lol

Looks clean. Im not big into "systems" though. I always felt they weighed down the car too much and Im sure when your driving an R you want to hear the sweet sweet sound of the motor.

yeah, i understand, my car probably gained about 70 more pounds because of the system. but the stock speakers sound so awful!, I had to change them. I know putting a system in an R is sort of wierd. it kinda takes away the purpose of having an R, lol. But i love bumping the system when i'm going to work/school. it keeps me entertained. a little weight gain doesn't hurt especially if it's for your own convenience. lol

Nice car, ugly amps. Not sure about the OBX pedals either.

whenever i hear a car go by me with a system, it makes me think back to like 98 when everyone was rocking em, but anyways, ditch the subs for a good set of component speakers. alpine has a pretty decent set, and they sound amazingly good for the size, and you wont need huge amps, just a small one.

People still rock systems, I dunno what you're talking about...

Anyhow, I don't think you need TWO 12" woofers in there. Its just taking up more space. I have one 12" W6V2 in my ride and its more than enough bass. Just my two cents..

As far as the check engine light, you could always find out what code its throwing from the ECU to determine the exact problem. I'm guessing it has something to do with your O2 sensor/cat. Try resetting the ECU and see if it goes off.

Well, you've only got 5 posts so i guess you're the Jr. in the house.
Anyways, COngrats on the R, you got a pretty good deal on it with all those bonuses.
These people have a point, up the security on that boy cause the last thing we all need
to hear is another R gone down to some idiot riceboys that can't afford Type R stuff so he's gotta go steal it.

Im down with the system, i just don't know if all that power's needed but whatever.
My old stereo setup was just an Alpine head unit (60 watts per channel is more than enough), Infinite Kappa components in the front, and Sony 6x9's custom fitted onto the rear deck ( so when the trunk's closed, the whole trunk is a box ).

My .02 cents on the system - Why the hell not? As long as its removable when i need the car to be light, its ALL GOOD. BUmp Dat Chiiiit Mang!

I don't know what your plans are for the R,if you're going to just drive it as is or if you plan to do some LEGAL performance driving but whatever the case, welcome to HT and i hope you enjoy your ride. Charley's headed your way, keep her garaged. LoL

Noob advice- Get the flame suit on, its comin.
