S2000 Mods, what do you recomend?
I have friend who recently bought a black 01 S2000. Its completly stock with 16k miles. His budget is $2000 right now to spend on mods. Hes not going turbo, or supecharger. I am a B series guy, and I really dont have any reccomendations for power. Ive heard people with s2000s putting exhausts an gaining like 3 whp. The fact that the s2k motor is so tuned out already makes the mod gains slim. Is this info correct? what would you guys recommend. what would be your mods? He was thinking of a VAFC, or EMS. I said maybe a good clutch an flywheel. but id like to hear first hand expierience what you guys think are good modifications considering his budget. thanks in advance.
I have dynoed my s2k with header back exhaust and I gained 12whp. As for your friend, I will suggest him to get an intake and exhaust to begin with if he wants power orelse I will suggest to invest some money to improve the handling.

search and you'll find this covered. I sound like a broken record saying this, the car is NOT tuned out from the factory.

yeah he does, but hes not on here, and frankly some people are intimidated my websites. Im just looking for S2k owners opinons. I have built B series motors, i dont know alot about the s2k. What it responds to etc. He has a $2000 budget. i wanted to know what s2k owners thought would be the best mods to do with that money. thanks for the POSITIVE INput from other poeple.
$2K = track time, track time, track time, brake pads, brake pads, brake pads, tires, tires, tires.
Best mod money can buy. Anything else, is "performance for five seconds of WOT", if even that.

Well, I have read several articles in Honda Tuning Magazine, and they had someone install intake, headers and exhaust for well over $3K and only got 9whp out of it. I would like to ask the same question, is there anything we S2K owners can do to get a little more umph out of our cars? I plan to race in the SCCA, so, I am limited as to what I can do and still stay in the Showroom Stock class. I am not sure, but I think I am allowed to install exhaust, just not allowed to go ahead of the cat. Intake is out of the question. I do agree with the performance stand point. I just sold my Corvette and eveyone wanted to drag race. I am not into that, I like performance, and handlling. So, does anyone have any good suggestions as to what exhaust offers the most? I like Comptech, and I like DC sports. I am not sure who all makes parts for the S2K.

add engine management to the bolt on parts and power output will increase about 3 times what you quoted.
