Default My megasquirt works

Just started/finished it yesterday. It's neat to watch the lights flash on the stimulator

The H-T go kart is getting closer and closer to boost. Now I just need someone to give me some injectors, a honda fuel rail + FPR, and a D series throttle body so I can make up the intake manifold/fuel system.

Hehe, it's a DIY fuel injection computer.

http://www.megasquirt.info

I got the kit from glen's garage ( http://www.glensgarage.com ). He includes all the parts + PCBs + CNC case. You solder it all together, and then it magically works.

Blurry picture (I'm too lazy to open the case and take a better one):

There are several programs for your laptop/etc to tune it. Here is a pic of megatune hooked up to the megasquirt:

Megasquirt

Many a formerly-carburated bigblock use this system. I wouldn't swap out a chippable ECU for it, though.

Well in response to this thread I already have an FPR, fuel rail, and TB coming!

I'm still looking for injectors though.

The turbo has an internal wastegate that is supposed to be 8-10psi. 240cc injectors might be borderline for this boost level, but I'm not sure. I should work out the math again

I watched my buddy and a Toyota tech install a 3SGTE into a Celica and make a startup map with Megasquirt. Keep us updated as you progress. I was going to give you a fuel rail but I see you already have one. If you dont find injectors by the time I take my injectors out you can have them. Good luck

I have a VX that could donate some parts, I'm not shipping that crap though.

Might have some 320cc's out of an Impulse RS... they're being swapped for 450's. I've got a **** ton of 240cc, low or high Z your choice.

The issue now is that the megasquirt does not control spark.

There is a mod for it to control spark with a ford or whatever ignition system, but the kart only has 2 cylinders.

See, the engine already has kawasaki electronic ignition... but it is fixed and I cannot change the timing.

I might get lazy and just put 100+ octane in the kart. Maybe it won't ping

Does anyone know if an MSD BTM works on 2 cylinder engines with individual coils?

The MSD DIS-2 will control coilpacks.

You will have to set it for 720° firing and only use output #1, but it should work just as well as 4 coils on 4 cylinders (as on the 1.7)

I use the DIS on my Kia (which uses 2 coils for 4 cylinders, 360° firing), and highly recommend it.
