If you go with a B18b please look into buying a tranny with shorter gears. The gears for the ls tranny are way too long. Reminds me of the civic dx kind of. I recommend the B16 tranny. Check out http://www.hmotorsonline.com for complete swaps. It's a real easy swap.
I just put a b18b in my 93 del sol. I love it, hella torqe, I got 17's and it spins into 3rd. I don't mind the long gears, i'm going to boost later on. It's a very easy swap the only problem I have is my check engine light. I'm using the b18b ecu but I'm using the d16z6 wiring harness and the cel light says I have a faulty vtec pressure switch(code 21). Just remember to buy dohc del sol shifter linkage. I made the mistake of buying teggie linkage, that was $150.00 down the hole. I got mine from inlinefour.com for $220.00 shipped. Oh yeah I also had to shorten my cat by @ 2 inches to fit exhaust but i'm using the stock manifold and down pipe from a 91 teggie so I didn't have to extend the legnth of wiring harness going to o2 sensor, but if your using the b18b obd1 wiring harness you probably won't need to do that. hope that helps. One last thing, you can keep your stock a/c, with no mods, if you get the a/c bracket from a dohc del sol.
