Well, i've noticed that lately a few people have been mis-shifting and asking for advice. Some have said that if your car makes loud ticks and idles rough, then you may want to have it checked out. My question is, How can one tell the difference between a tick from bent valves and lifter tick?

I thought bent valve would give you series rough idle.

I have that tick, tick, tick noise... but it's normal. (compared it to pyromaster's R).

 

tick tick?? is it the same tick that it makes when you need a valve adjustment??? I'm not sure what kind of ticking you're talkin about.

Well, it's not that audible, but I certainly do hear it with the hood open. I will be doing the valve adj. in the spring @ ~10k, so we'll see. (~10k will include 2 autoX, 1 mt. run, daily driven)
