Linde welders? old school
Anyone ever hear of or use one. From what i understand they went out of business. We have 2 of them at work.. The boss told me i could have one because there not sure if it even works.. It's a stick welder but has a swith clearley lablet TIG. But I dont see anywhere to hook up the gas??? is there some sort of pedal setup that has an external gas setup?
I have a linde at work.... Its a big ****. I'll see if I can get some pics of it tomorrow. As far as the pedel, it just has a potentiometer (SP?), I've had to repair it once.
It works really well for what it is. It doesn't have some of those fancy features these new welders do (pulsing) but it gets the job done. I just started to weld alum. on it and it does it just fine.

Sweet.. i'll get the model#'s off ours...the one they kept is freaking huge!! Mine is smaller, still as big as 2 gas grills though..lol
The one we have is about 4' tall 3' wide and 5' long. We also have a miller water cooler on it. It works very nice... my welding on the other hand... lol. I'm pretty good with the stainless though
Here are a couple of pics of the one I have at work:

In the second pic on the bottom is where the gas goes.
From left to right:
Ground, Electrode, gas in, gas out, water in, water out, remote current and remote contactor.
The last 2 run to and from the pedal.

Down in the campus Eng. labs where I work, they have on old, old, old *** MIG the size of a volkswagen. The "gun" itself is the size of a 12 pack.

The Millermatic 135 is about the size of the water cooler you got going there. Interesting how technology progresses over the years.
