Default Exhaust pipe size (opinions appreciated)

Hey everyone. I do not share the ITR chasis, however, the heart of my EK is an ITR. My question is regarding the size of the exhaust pipe. I am heading into a local shop soon for some exhaust work and had an idea in mind and would like some feedback.

2.75" pipe (ID)
High flow cat of same size or greater
Resonator (maybe 2)
and a canister muffler (probably magnaflow)

My question is: Is 2.75 ID too big for a stock ITR engine? Is 2.5" adequate? The only mods I have is an Exedy clutch, spoon cooling system, and fluidyne radiator. I know these don't really add power, but I do plan engine mods in the future. I don't want to sacrafice a lot of low end torque because I like babying my car on the daily commute to work. Right now my setup is 2.25" and spoon test pipe. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

dude, we're both hybrids.. i got the 96 spec itr jdm and im plannin to do the js racing intake, stock jdm headers, magnaflow cat, 2.5" custom piping, and magnaflow race exhaust.. unless you have the jdm k20 motor, 2.5 is more than enough.

Thanks for the input, that's what I'll get. Also, I want to keep this somewhat quiet. I have some cheap chambered turbo muffler on there now, which is blown apart inside and sounds like ****. Any ideas on how to do this without sacraficing too much flow?

Hmm...never thought of that (smacking forehead)...however, the chassis is a 97 civic hb. Think this'll still work?

Yes I'm sure the muffler will work. You are justt gonna have to get a shop or somebody to weld it on.I doubt the axle back would bolt up to a ek.

the itr muffler is only 2.25 inches though, that will create a bottleneck. You could get a hytech twin-pass muffler which will be very quiet and last you a long time.

i'd rather keep the stock itr muffler, put a test pipe,
and spend my money elsewhere.

but that's just me.

that muffler shop that you're planning to go to...got 2.75 ID too? hmm dann my local store aint got 2.75.....

if i was you i would go for 2.75 if they have...cuz it between N/A and turbo....if later u are planing to get big power 2.75 is still really good....and i dont think 2.75 will lose hp cuz it too big...ITR is good for 2.75 or 2.50, i am sure on that
