I recently boosted my Civic Si.... stock motor with about 38K on the OD.
I love my car, I have a full full-race turbo kit, thermal 3" exhaust, hondata.. fully tuned... makes about 300 horse power. fun car to drive, but I don't know. I really love the way an S2K looks. Never drove one before, don't know how they feel on the road. but I've always wanted one.
would you take a S2000 over a boosted civic?
I'm prolly dreaming but eh... I can dream right?

i know you can for that price. go to s2ki.com and go for sale cars section. you can find plenty of s2k that is under 20k and still in great condition.
even boosted civic is nice i wouldnt trade my s2k for it. sorry cuz it will always just be a civic.
i had a ITR that was built all motor. ran like a dream but i thought to myself, it will always be just a integra.
this is just my 2 cent.

naw I don't mean trade a civic for a s2000, I just mean sell my civic and get a S2K...
I know the S2K has no torque... but it's a honda and they are sick *** cars... I dunno, If I could sell my civic for the right amount I'm sure I would do it.

I just build a CRX with a home made turbo kit, and I drive it more than I do my S. As nice as the S is, its just lacking in the speed department, and that will be VERY apparent for you coming from a 300hp Civic.

Nice!
I gave up my Turbo'd LS for the 04 S2k. And I beat up on my 98 Civic DX daily
That 96 horsepower is a killa!

Just curious...but what makes you say this? IMO, I disagree. It's not more difficult to drive in traffic than any other car to me.

Go drive one hard and then ask yourself that question. It makes my Si feel like total ****. I'm looking to get one... and spray on that too.
im another one who sold his 99 si for a 04 s2k. i wish i could have kept the si too but if i had to choose between one and the other, it'll be to keep the s.

I agree. Stop and go traffic with a soft clutch and no torque can get very annoying.

Just so ya know...im drivin a boosted 92 widebody b16 hatch and all I have been thinkin about lately is sellin the civic and gettin and s2k or a early 90's NSX...(gotta find one cheap though so more than likely an s2k.) I smoked an s2k last year when i wasnt boosted but running an NX wet on my b16 but after i beat the kid in his daddy's s2 i told him i would show him how to drive it....flyin up the highway and passin under a couple bridges at 8800 rpms...l fell in love. Even when I got back all my friends told me i looked good driving it. It felt WAY slow compared to my civic..(especially this year).. but its a HIGHER LEVEL tuning car. Not putting down civics at all...because they have the potential to be faster than anything out there...but everyone and their grandma has one. Its an entry-level car. I love my civic and with the molded widebody...trust me...i get WAY more looks than an S2...but i want the next level...so I say sell the civic and get an s2. That is my plan as soon as I hit an 11 in my civic (probably next year). Just my opinion of course.

i was going to buy an S2 insted of building a 400 hp del sol, untill i got my insurance quote of $14,000 PER YEAR. I literally crapped my pants right there when i heard that. So, im building a monster del sol. Hopefully finished within a month.
PS- there is nothing like building your own car. Its not just paying for it up front that counts. I love spending all my time looking for parts, waiting for them to get shipped in, istalling them and seeing the finished product. i cant wait for it to get done

Are you on drugs? There is no way that any insurance company would even offer insurance at that rate. They just wouldn't insure you on it.
