I have read all about removing air conditioning in my delsol. I was just wondering if anything has to be changed to compensate for less friction on the pulley, now that it would only have power steering belt and cam belt attached. Will I gain any Hp after doing this?

No you don't have to compensate for this, and you won't gain any hp (or not enough to feel by seat of the pants dyno), because the pulley on the a/c compressor only adds parasitic drag when engaged.

 

Thanks for that I spose i'll get a little weight reduction anyway.

 

If you have an E-bay account. Clean up all the ac components, assuming they all work, and sell them. I got around $200 from the 3 auctions.

 

i need AC for my sol, but I dont have $200

 

I have my unit on ebay at the moment (the reserve is $160). But so far no bids the problem seems to be that I live in New Zealand and everyone else is in America.
