Brake light and 4WS lights on
Hi all!
I have a 97 Prelude. I bought it 2 years ago. I love it!!!
I have noticed the following:
When I start the engine in the morning, I release the handbrake, but the brake lamp stays on. Few minutes later the 4WS light also lits. About 15-20 minutes later both lights put out. The 4WS light never lit up again but the brake lamp switches on when I step on the brake for 5 more minutes. Then everything is Ok!
When I stop and start the engine again it never appears!!!
Usually this problem comes in winter when it is cold outside but in this year comes more often even in summer.
I have checked all the fluids and lights everything is OK!
Any idea why this strange thing happens?
Thanks for replying!

first thing i would be doing is checking your brake lights to see if they have blown, then if they arent check to make sure the bulbs are the correct ratings.
this is the most common causes of your symptoms.

For brake light,
breake fluid cap has a sensor for low level and it is probably faulty. To make sure remove one of the two cables on it and see it this cures the problem. (mine was faulty too).
For the 4WS, most probably you have an alignment problem. You should pull the code to make sure about it. (yours is a 5th gen like mine I guess)
So these problems has nothing to with each other.

And how can you explain that these appear at the same time?
I mean sometimes the brake light swithes on alone but the 4WS never. It always comes with the brake light.
And why the problem stops when I park whole day in the hot sun?
Yes I think we have the same 5th gen.
