Default Is My Car Dead???

To make a long story short, my car died today while my brother was driving it. He did nothing wrong. While he was driving he said
the tachometer dropped and the enging shut off. He coasted over to the side and then pushed the car into a parking lot. At first
we thought it was the battery. I was at work so had a friend pick him up to go get a battery. Before they left, the friend checked it out.
He discovered that car had NO oil. So they went and bought oil. They put 2 qts in it then tried to start it. They couldnt get it to work cuz there
was a problem with my alarm (which i have no remotes for). So finally I arrive, I fix the alarm, hook up and jump and we get it to turnover.
It continously does so but the engine never starts. I had a tow truck come and the guy said it was getting fuel but not pressure. he said its probably
seized and that he knew a close junkyard that had a few good engines for around 500 for my car. So my car is now at my mechanics
and hes going to check it out in the morning. Any possibiliteis my engine is not ruined? And if it is, what kind of upgrade options do
I have if im to get a new motor, without spending a fortune and needing to change a lot of other ****. I am broke and will be borrowing
a lot of money to help pay for this.

i greatly appreciate any help
-Jay

Sounds like a problem i recently had with a friends civ. We dropped an H22 in it, and since the motor has been in that bay, we have seen nothing but problems. The alternator went bad, and it was doing the same thing your car was doing. So.. we threw a new alternator in it, and realized the battery was screwed to. So we put a new battery in it, and the alternator wasent charging the battery even then. so we looked into emp. Fixed the problem and the car runs fine. Look into that, it might be it. No promises though. Good luck.

Running a motor with no oil is not a good idea.
If you have an LS and are looking to upgrade your motor, the easiest thing to do would be a B18C GSR motor. It won't be cheap though. If you are broke, and the motor is toast, a new LS motor or a B20 would probably be the way to go. They can both be had for pretty cheap. Good luck man

if a motor SEIZES , it will NOT turn over.
when a motor seizes up it completly melts itself together.

your motor has not seized.

check for a spark, check the timing belt.
