As soon as I get there he put 234 up on the rack and started removing the wheels.


mike is looking at something near the rear brakes




min thickness is 8mm. Guage says 7.1..d'oh!


ah, so that's my gift..replacement set of rear brake rotors and pads




odd, front wheels were removed also


i'm told to say goodbye to nsx calipers...uh ok


off they go!

Just when I thought the guy was done, he pulls out the PGM tester to cycle the ABS

Rotors and pads at all four corners - check
Mugen Active Gate installed in front - check
ABS cycled w/ PGM Tester - check
reassemble 234 - check

what does the PGM tester do? What's the purpose? I have no clue

 

I like the OBD-2 scanner with the sensor readout. I just need a sugar mama to get me one for X-mas.

Fill us in on the ABS cycling though, is that to help expel bubbles while bleeding the lines?

 

PGM Tester is Honda's diagnostic tool. Can also be used to cycle the ABS. By cycling the ABS it'll help expel any air that may be trapped w/in the ABS unit.

Thanks. I checked the website. I think the scanners are slightly out of my budget ($3K - $5K)

I'll cycle my ABS the cheap way... garden hose, wet the street down, and slam on the brakes multiple times

 

I like how Phairy Yellow looks like the only good ITR color in B&W pics

You can build a tool to cycle your ABS with about $5 worth of parts from radio shack.
