Default torque specs

hey guys, im new to the forum, and im already asking a question. my question is, what are the torque specs on the valve cover bolts, and what pattern do i bolt them down in? im painting and polishing my valve cover tomorrow, and im new to hondas, so i thought you guys would know.....thanks

p.s.: its a 2002 accord vtec 4 cylinder

eh... i dont think there are torque specs for the calve cover.. just do them oppisite sides like you would a rim so it goes down even

well, i know it has some certain amount of ft/lbs for it.....it has to.......thats the way all valve covers work

There is a torque spec. but hardly any body goes by that. Its more of a feel thing. Snug all the bolts down at opposit corners with a 1/4" ratchet and 10mm socket. Don't play He-Man with the bolts, they will break if you over tighten them. You would be wise to get a new valve cover gasket and a thing of honda bond so it won't leak.
