I just got my jdm motor and i found this on the block...What is it? It says Guarantee Void if Removed.

 

Looks like a stamp from someone who rebuilt your block. At least that's what my machine shop said when I asked him about the one on my head.

 

Dont those melt if the motor over heats? I think IAS puts those on, I have a GSR block with one.

 

hmm, i just got the motor so i dont know if it was rebuilt...im going to have to look into this...

Junkyards put that on their motors so they know they are from their junkyard (or sometimes just a junkyard). It just so people do not try to screw them over. If you know nothing about who put it on, you can take it off.

That is a heat tab that is used by recycling facitlities aka "junk yards". These are usually placed on the head or on the block on the water jacket and will fall off if the engine is overheated. This is their way of protecting themselves from getting a motor back for warranty that is "bad" yet has been abused by the consumer.... Hope this helps... BTW I work @ IAS so I know
