How durable/long-lasting are Koni Yellows?
I am currently running Ground Control adjustable sleeves on stock shocks and have done so for 30K miles (Eibach 340F/380R).
The car feels as good as day one, but I want to try out the Koni Yellows hoping for a slightly stiffer, less bouncy ride. OK, I am half lying. I got a great deal on them and I can't pass it up. I'm lowered ~1.5".
Will the Koni Yellows last just as if not longer than the 30K+ miles the stock Shows have given me? I just want to set and go. I am thinking the spring rates I'm running could use a bit more dampening than what the stock Showas are providing, but I'm no suspension guru. Just hoping to get people's thoughts who have experience in this type of thing.
TIA

they'll last quite a while actually. IMO, after about 30K miles on the S's stock shocks, they are pretty shot by then. Earlier if tracked/autocrossed/spiritedly driven often.
The Koni's can be rebuilt as well, but also just purchased one off, so it's an easy thing to replace.

Koni offers a lifetime warranty on their shocks to the original purchaser. So that should tell you something about their durability...

Regardless, I have aftermarket springs on my stock shocks right now on my S2k, and I know the Koni's would be perfect for it. I rode on stock shocks in my Integra as well with my H&R springs, and the Konis changed my world.

is that warranty for a car that's not lowered? it's hard 2 believe they'd offer a lifetime warranty on their shocks no matter how much your car is lowered... what's the limitations of the warranty i'm very curiousss

konis come from the factory with snap rings on the shaft that allows you to set the ride height. On the integra's konis, you could SLAM it with stock springs.
I'm not aware of any limitation on ride height.

I guess you could say the limitation on ride height would be bouncing off the bump stops.

are the high priced coilovers that much bette over the koni/GC setup....i know with the tru coilovers u can have them balanced and corner weighted...which is a great thing...not sure if u can do that with the koni/gc setup...
someone help me out....im starting to think the full coilovers are jdm bling and more for track use

the high priced coilovers are high priced for a reason, not too many people buy them and those that do know what they're getting themselves into...a life of tuning and setting them up from track to track. Save yourself the trouble, and get a setup meant for the street and some light duty track driving that is very user friendly. The mucho $$$ stuff is really overkill.
