hey everyone, first off i am new to this board, but am occasionally coming here to gather civic knowledge

anyways, i was just curious as to what exactly the point of the vtec solenoid was, and how it could get dirty enough to need to be cleaned out?

as for the location its a black cap thing to the upper left of your valve cover, its on the intake.

its on the HEAD and ive never seen a black cap but i could be mistaken.

agreed.. and as far as it getting dirty.. i dunno, can it? ive never had any probs..

 

thanks for the replies guys. well, i was just looking through my helms (96-2000 civic) manual...tryin to soak up some info and i came across the section on cleaning out the vtec solenoid. your comments are super appreciated! thanks!!
