Oil Leak?
I have developed an oil leak on my 98 HX Civic (101,000 miles). I drips from the oil pan down onto the exhaust pipe. That is how I first noitced it. At first I hoped that is was just the oil filter leaking. But I cleaned everything off last time I did an oil change and the leak is back. It appears to be the rear mian seal.. Are these problem areas?? I am beginning to wonder if running synthetic oil was such a good idea (I heard its hard on seals).. Any other places to check?? About how long does it take you guys to drop the tranny?
Sorry I posted this yesterday on the competition page on accident

It may be the Pan gasket but isn't that an O-Ring.... I'm going to take off the inspection shield to see if its on the backside. Are the pan gasket problem areas???
Thanks Jason

not that I know of.....but, I never hear too much about oil leaks with hondas.
Still wouldn't hurt if it was the pan.....I hope it is for ya.....that would make things easy.
