how often do you change oil on your CRX/EF? especially with a stock engine ...

just check your oil regularly and change when necessary... oil can still be clean after 3000 miles

 

3,000 miles or 3 mounths
but must of the time i do it sooner than that cuzi loose track of time

 

the engine ate a qt of oil for the last 3,500 miles ... I keep overfilling a bit .. as for the collor it's always like coffee ... waht color is clean?

 

open a bottle of new oil and pour some out,thats what clean looks like..just get good oil and keep it full at all times...

 

I always change my oil every 1,500 miles(or when dirty). I seem to change the filter every other time or so. I just use castrol gtx non-synthetic, so its cheap. Its cheap insurance to always have clean oil IMO.

PS, on my d16a6 I changed it every 3K

 

I change my oil every 1500 or less and change the filter every other change. Car has almost 209k and I hope to hit 300k.

 

I change mine every 1500, its a high strung LSVTEC though.. I'll change my DX's oil every 3500-5k. My DX manual says 7,500 - too long in my opinion.

 

Anyone in here use full synthetic

Mobil 1, but I'm going to switch to Castrol Syntec.. Mobil 1 burns too much.

 

On my old d15b2, I'd change the oil whenever I thought about it.. otherwise I'd just add oil when it burnt enough to notice on the dipstick

but now with my mildly-built GSR, I'll be changing it very religiously. I like the idea of every 1500 w/ filter every other time. I'll probably do something like that, or like oil/filter every 2000-2500.

We'll see..

 

i change my oil every two months or when it gets really low. i normaly dont reach the 3k mark for the oil change cause it burns it off real quick. When i was using valvoline max life i went through a quart a week. now that i switch to castrol it dont burn it as fast. as for the oil filter i too change it every other oil change.

 

hey, I feel so guilty now. I boght it with 209K+ and now it's 216K+ and my Si manual says 6k or 12k. I just added oil when it was low. Now I noticed blue smoke coming out of my new exhaust ...

BTW: What other additives can I use to improve the engine health?

 

to better your engine don't use additives.
