Default CRX WIRING

I have a CRX si with a 1.8 ls motor, and it's not getting any current to the distributor. It cranks but no spark. I tested the current going into the dist. and nothing. There is a red wire with a black stripe on it, that goes into a blue plug that plugs into the fuse box under the dash, that is melted. Would that wire cause this? If not, what could be the problem?

um ya, that maybe the problem, find the wire that comes out of the melted socket and jump it, also do you have dash lights like he said?
