Default Swap on its way, now I need a 92GS-R Cluster

Ok guys so the swap has started, Im putting a B17A in my 92 RS, because of that ungodly timing belt issue! I was thinking hey, I really dont want this RS gauge cluster in my car anymore, and I dont know what to do, there are NO absolutely no 92 or 93 GS-R's in any junk yard out here where I can get the cluster from, but I went to this site that sells new acura parts and they have the entire cluster brand new for $1164.91. I little too rich for my blood, but they also sell the tach assem. by itself for only 468.03, and last and finally I heard that I could put a DC cluster in with some wiring. I just wanted to know what is the best way to do this guys, or does someone have one of these sitting atthe house and would not mind getting rid of it.

Holy ****. Where did you get the B17, and how much did you pay for it? (If you don't mind me asking)

they aren't impossible to find: http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99315

Also, you can purchase a 92-93 integra xsi gauge cluster and use that. And since you probably don't want a speedo that reads in km/h you can pull the tach out of the xsi cluster and swap it into your RS cluster (you could also put the gsr tach into your RS cluster...you can swap any or all of the gauges...)

Well where can I find the XSi clusters, and I went to this acura parts site and they want $500 for just the tach, they want $1100 for the cluster., Where else should I be looking does anyone know of some sites to check?

you can also find them on ebay..... basically look anywhere else you'd look for parts online, especially jdm ones.....

Thanks alot guys Ive found a couple on those JDM websites, but how much time and effort does it take to swap those gauges over? The last time I tried to put some indiglo gauges on my last car the needle popped of and i never got it set back right, so Im a bit afraid of trying it again. The gauge looks GOOD though!!!

you dont need to pop the needles off. Its pretty simple. The speedo is attached to the cluster with screws. Remove them and thats it.

swapping the gauges is easier than removing/installing the cluster...that can be a pain in the butt when dealing w/ the speedo cable.

And just so you know, you should make sure that the jdm cluster you buy is a 92-93 one. If you get an 89-91 cluster then your gauges will not match (like in the pic posted above).

I have a 91 integra. Your telling me the jdm cluster is different and I too would have to buy a 92-93?

If you want the gauges to match.... you'll have to get an 89-91 xsi cluster. The difference in gauge style is not usdm vs jdm, the difference in gauge style deals with year.

Note the hash marks between increments of both the rpm and mph/kmh, there are many more marks on the 92-93 gauges.
