from the search, I have red, a lot of peoples seems to vouch for Kumho 712, I know they tend to squeal a bit, but what about cruising speed, how quiet are they ?
how long do they typically last ?

Also, AVID is known to be fairly quiet and last longer, but how are they as far as performance on wet ?

i own the kumho712's and theyre great for the price. They're decent on a dry setup and theyre good on rain. Not too loud. Will last you a while. Sorry i dont have a specific mileage.

 

what about nankang NS-1 radial ? I heard they're fairly cheap and quiet as well..with 340 thread wear..as oppose to 240 on kumhos...

any opinions ?

I have Kumho 712's in 205/50/15's on my car now. I don't notice it being loud... but all R's are gutted, so we're used to above normal outside noises.

I had Kumho 712's in 215/40/17's on my EK. On that set, it was howling like a dog. Maybe 'cuz it only had 3,000 miles (when I sold it).

Have you looked at Yoko A520's. From what I hear, they are great tires too and not much more than Kumho's.
