It is time for new tires: what are your recommendations
I want something that performs, but is reasonalbe as far as tread life and noise is concerned. I don't race that much, but enjoy good handling...
I have BF Goodrich Euro TAs on my car now and don't like them. Some people have recommended Kumho Supras...say they are good for the price. What say you? Oh, I have 205/40/16.
thanks

Thanks a lot. I have been reading reviews at http://www.tirerack.com and that is what most people say. I just wanted some opinions from people who are not on that site.

I have potenza S-03's 195/50/15. I have owned sets of the yoko avs-i's , (regarded by may people as the best tire for the money when it was available) and other brands as well. The Bridgestones BLOW THEM AWAY!! these are by far the best dry and wet grip tires ive ever owned. I have no comment on treadware but I can tell you for the money there is not much better out there...just my .02

checkout tire rack and compare what people say about the bridgestone s03 and the michelin and the pirelli pzero. THe so3's are supposed to be the best. Haven't tried em' yet but i will soon cuz my pops will be getting them on the m3 soon. When i get some rims for my ride, i will definitely be getting the same. Solosol, what width rim are you running with those tires? got any pics? I'll be doing the same soon.

I just got my Azenis and would sugges them, but you mention roadnoise as an issue, so I say go with S03's from tirerack. My buddy here Muckman has them and loves them as do many other owners, in fact I havent heard ANY bad things about them.....PLUS the 195/50R15 may still be hella cheap at under $80 so you can get a great tire for just a bit more than the azenis... thats my vote.. Bridgestone S03 is an awesome tire- but treadwear sucks badly- the S2000 comes with them stock and they last around 15-20k miles. Sticky as hell though.

I have the Khumo 712's and I just got the Falken Azenis. The Azenis are better grip wise. But when it comes to road noise and treadlife, the Khumo's are better. Both tires are incredibly cheap though.
good luck,

I have the potenza s03's. They are awesome tires... a bit pricey though. I've heard the Toyo TS-1s are also very good. Those would be my two picks when I get new tires.

I'm lookin at falken azenis and bridgestone 203 for my next tire...after i wear out my still-new kumho 712's... too bad only the kumho comes in 195/55/15 size. i dont want that 205/50 stuff or 195/50 stuff... is there a way i can get those two tires in 195/55/15???

Kumho 712 suck *** only good if you running on the street only. If you go to the track they get no traction you get massive wheel spin till like 3rd gear. That's my $0.02

Khumo Ecsta 712s are sweet, and cheap
good grip, good treadlife, good traction.
good grip, good treadlife, good traction.
They've held up quite nicely.
Good treadware
Good roadnoise
Good grip in WET weather
Ok grip in Dry weather
Overall for $65/ea, I can't complain.
