Yes I have searched and found stuff out about springs but not my answer. The search function is too broad.

I wanted to know what spring rates mean?
If the numbers go higher is it a stiffer harder ride and if the numbers are lower is it a softer, bouncier ride, or other way around.
What are stock ride rates for a 95 4DR Teg.
I want to get springs but try to have a stock ride feel.

 

The higher the spring rate, the stiffer the spring it. That alone can be enough to cause a bouncy, and unsafe ride on the street. Lower spring rates will offer a more "cushy" ride, while not as performance oriented though.

Proper shocks to go with your springs will help you achieve a softer ride also. The stock spring rates for your Teg should be approx. 212lb front and 117lb rear springs. When compare to race cares that can use 14k spring rates, it makes yours seem like a Cadillac.

If you want to get more aggressive springs that will improve your handling ability, but not completely tarnish your ride quality, look into some springs by H&R or Tanabe.

I had the Tanabe DF210 springs which gave approx. a 1.85" drop, but increased the springs rates up to around 250 lbs fron and 150 rear, which was slightly above and ITR's stock spring rates. I matched them up with some KYB AGX shocks, and with those, I could control the settings on the shock and control my ride quality. Set them on 1 for just comfortable cruising, and on 4 for Auto X or Track use.

While they didn't offer a full race setup, they were and improvement over stock that offered good ride height as well. Other good shocks that would be well suited for a daily driver would be the Tokico Illumina.
