yes it will, but i would pay the extra 300 for an h22 tranny

it has better gearing for NA applications

unless your talking about an h23 tranny for an extra 3 hundsky

usually they charge $300 extra to get an LSD tranny over a non-LSD tranny, thats not the cost of the tranny, just to get the upgraded tranny

not really. the gearing is almost the same, but a bit taller with the h22.

This concerns me. A lot slower with an h23 tranny? I was just considering putting one on my h22, since my transmission is destroyed. I had heard it makes a tiny difference relating to something such as the quarter mile and speed.. like a tenth of a second difference..

Any elaboration?

gear ratios are posted in the FAQ, you can do the math to see the differences

and your posting to me about rediculous posts...the h22s tranny is shorter than the h23 not taller, hence its made for the powerband of the h22, according to you the f22 would be a better tranny then??

There's not a huge difference in the H23 and H22 tranny. Some will say it will make a huge difference. In the cars I've driven, the H23 tranny is very close to the H22 and will not make a huge difference.

my friends h22 accord ran a best of 14.7 @ 94 with the h23 tranny, with his h22 tranny that dropped to a 14.2 @ 98......and these were consistent times as i also drove the car many many times...thats a pretty big difference

I'm curently running the H23 tranny, but third gear is destroyed thanks to 200,000 miles of abuse, so I am planning on switching to the JDM h22 w/lsd. Right now it will lag out of VTEC if you dont rev it to redline, but otherwise works fine. My times should be more consistant, maybe a litle quicker. I'll do a writeup after I get the new tranny.

is your car a daily driver? i think the h23 tranny is already on the high side, so going with an h22 tranny would make it even worse to try to drive on the highway. if you do go get an h23 tranny beware that you will fall out of vtec between 1st and 2nd unless you get the vtec engagement lowered with hondata, vafc, etc...

whats wrong with being at 4200 on the highway..so what, i dont care what any of you say, the h23 tranny isnt nearly as good...and just lowering your vtec engagement wont cure the trannys issues, it may not fall out of vtec, but would you rather fall to 4700 or 5500 on your 1-2 shift, im gonna say 5500...but thats just me, honda desigened the 2 trannys specifically for thier respective engines, but then again what do they know

I have had both a m2s4 and a m2b4(current tranny). I'd have to say 1st-3rd gear, it's almost the same. the only difference I felt was 4th and 5th gear(m2b4 being shorter).

isn't there some tranny (euro r ?) that has a shorter 1-2 and 2-3 but with a longer 5th gear for highway? doesn't it also have lsd? b/c i'd either get an h23 to save money or just save some extra cash and get one of those euro r trannies, rather than waste extra cash on an h22 tranny.

and i agree the h22 tranny is better in acceleration. but i'd rather give up a few tenths of a second in a 1/4 mile stretch to have a little more tolerable daily driving. i guess it depends on what you the priorities are for you and your vehicle.

daily driving?...you realize that in an h23 tranny your still gonna run in higher rpms at interstate speeds...im looking at getting a final drive and shortening my gears up....i dont drive on the interstates that much to even worry about it and besides my tranny isnt even an M series...its a P2T4.....out of some sort of jdm accord, i believe its from the SiR accord...never could source that number, all i know is that P is the letter for accord trannys

a little OT : what is the h22's rpm at 60 mph with an h22 tranny? preluderacer, where'd you get that tranny? if you don't mind me asking, how much it set you back? seems like a real good tranny considering your 1/4 miles.

i'm gonna call bs, with everything else being equal, the tranny change would make a 1 tenth difference at the most. maybe he ran 14.7 in the summer with the h23 tranny, and 14.2 in the winter with the h22 tranny, but like i said...not with the conditions the same.

exactly, your talking about a SLIGHT difference in gearing, not something that is day an night like an f22 tranny vs an h22 tranny.

i drove my friends h22 lude around with an h23 tranny for a good half a yr, w/o ever realizing it had an h23 tranny until the day we took it off to swap his clutch, so much for your MAD HUGE SUPER DUPER loss of speed.
