Slight shimmy in steering at low speed on 1989 Integra LS
I have a slight smmy in the steering at low speed on my car. Low speed I mean about 20-30 MPH. I think it is probably due to a flat spot in the tires because the car sat for a while before I bought it. Anybody have any other thoughts?
I had a similar problem in my 90 GS. I balanced the tires and that took car of most of the problem. but that resulted in a slight cupping of the tires. The rest of the problem was during braking due to a warped rotor from a dirty calliper. But a flat spot could easily make what you're talking about. But if thats the case then it should almost get worse at higher speeds.
Thanks for the info. I was definitely leaning toward the balance option, even though I already had them balanced. I do tend to think you are right about the brake rotor too because I hear some sound at low speed when I hit the brakes.
Thanks!.
Thanks!.
