noise from engine Help please
i got a 89 DX with a D16A6. I have a J's intake, Exospeed Race Cam, Header, and exhaust.
I was driving on the freeway today and i was merging into traffic, and i rode third up to about 75 mph to merge. I then shifted to fourth, and hit the gas to keep up my speed, and i started hearing this clicking noise, so i lay off the gas and i don't hear anything, sounds normal.i hit the gas and again i get this noise. (the noise will only happen after i rev up to 3000 RPM).
I get home and look to see what it is, and is ee my timing belt cover is loose so i re-tighten it and think no more of it. I just went to go get dinner and it is doing it still. When i am idleing everythign is as it was before, the only thing i really see is if i push it when i hear this noise the car does not have the pickup that it used too.
Anyone have any ideas of what this could be? Could i just have popped a valve with such a big cam? If that was the case though i would be hearing it at idle. The sound, deffinately sounds liek it is comming from the head.
**edit** i took off the valvecover, and everythign looked good, the only thing that seemed strange to me was there was some smoke somming out of the holes that are open at the top of the head. Is that normal?
