alarm works then doesn't, works and again doesn't, whats wrong?

i have a clifford alarm and it was working fine for a month, then one day when i armed the car none of buttons on the remote worked, i couldn't unarm it. few hours later i pushed the buttons and it was working fine again, however now the samething has happened, what is wrong with my alarm? also the light on the remote works when i push a button, remote has a new battery, and alarm antenna is long and looks like its in good condition. if you know the problem please let me know, thanks.

is that the only remote you have ?

sounds like something could be up with the remote.

or possibly something wrong with the brain of the alarm itself.
