Default 97 accord Code P0715::: input turbine speed sensor??? NEED HELP!!! Please

My auto tranny isn't grabbing any gears so I scanned it and it came up 1 code which is PO715 the "input turbine speed sensor/ Circuit malfunction. Does this mean my tranny is bad? Or can I just replace the sensor?

Mianshaft speed sensor.

Not very likely, but possible.

Could be a bad sensor, wiring, connector, or ECU.

do a tranny flush, and get the new sensor and install it.

so if you scanned that code, i am assuming you're a tech? most shadetree mechanics don't have PGM Testers...

if you're a tech, it shouldn't be an issue.

I am a wanna be tech who has lots of friends in the industry that have no spare time but lend me their tools if needed. I depend on H-tech for most of my info

I also forgot to mention that I am getting a pretty loud whinning noise from the tranny. I'm assuming it's the mainshaft thats messed up. I don't wanna spend the money on the sensor then come to find out it's my tranny .
