My friends distributor broken twice what could it have been??
OKay My boy has a 92 j-spec h22 with stock internals. Now his distributor failed on him the gears on the inside of the component broke off and jammed itself ruining the whole thing. So he brought another one brand new life-time warranty the whole 9 yards. Well after the install was correct and everything we made sure all the markings were on point and the distributor goes in only 1 way for self assurance connecting into the camshaft.
Now just today the teeth where it lines up broke off on the distributor again I couldnt believe it the car shut off on him and just came to a dead role only to find out that that was the culprit. How can we stop this from ever happening again because the install was correct aswell are we doing something horribly wrong. When before the last distributor failed we tried to constantly crank the car to get it to start then we finally got it to start could it be from all the times we kept on cranking the car that it finally decided to give out or could it have been faulty your opinions are very much appreciated. But other than the we changed the distributor again its all the way in like last time nicely flushed against the head with no space in between.

well they say the 3rd time is the charm, try agian,
most ditributors run for a long time with no problems,, the only thing that could possibly wiggle that internal cam lose is major vibration combined with some super heat,
if it has a life time warrenty , return it, and try agian, if it happens a 3rd time something is deffenitly going on,
recently i had the screw fall out of my rotor and it totally ate the indie of my dizzy, but it doesn't happen all the time.
