2001 gsr w/ Skunk 2 mani, Has a whistle???
I installed a skunk 2 mani on my 01 gsr and the throttle body whistles between 20% and 60% throttle. It is driving me crazy. I have taken the TB off and cleaned it and it still makes this stupid wistle noise. Does anybody have a clue why it would wistle like that?? Thank you in advance...Matt

It is VERY normal...That IM makes a whistleing noise on any model...part of the design. Sorry gonna have to live with it. Comptech Ice box will muffle the whistle out. PEACE!

i had a whistle from mine too but it when away competely when i put a 65 mm edlebrock TB on...no whisltle ever since and im glad it drove me crazy too

The whistle is normal when using the stock GSR throttle body. The Skunk2 IM has an opening of 62mm. The GSR has an opening of 60mm. So as you can see there's a slight jump in size. I have seen http://www.maxbore.com being mentioned lately. He bores out the GSR throttle body out to 62mm for $100! Sounds like a good deal! Another option would be to just find an ITR TB but those are pretty pricy from what I've seen.

i have the same problem at first it was cool but it gets kinda annoying now, i have a cai/h/im. my question is.. if i bore out the Throttle body will it stop whistling comig from the cai?

Nope - the CAI will whistle regardless.
