need some GSR tranny ID help
I picked up a busted Gsr tranny this weekend from a H-T member(2nd or 3rd owner), and it didn't have any exterior markings.
No sticker, and it looks like the rivets have been drilled where the VIN plate would have been. There's just two small holes.
So I busted the tranny open, started counting teeth, and calculated the 4th, 5th, and FD gear ratios. Sure enough, it's a GSR (4.4FD, and 4th & 5th matched too).
My question is, what year would it be from?
what year did they start putting VIN plates on trannys? I thought it was 96, but not certain...

Well, I found my answer. If kenji says it, it must be true:

I wish I could tell where it came from though.
I'll take a pic, and you guys tell me if it look like it never had a VIN(1995 or Canadian or JDM), or whether it's been intentionally removed.
I would feel bad owning (potentially) stolen parts w/ VIN removed. But it's been through at least three owners, plus it's busted right now, so it's not weighing heavy on my conscience. I know I did no wrong.
