If the image auto resizes in your browser you can either turn that option off by going to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and then under multimedia uncheck the auto resize or save the image and open it on your PC.

 

People seem pleased so far with the feel they offer. Isn't this more or less what honda did with the R chassis?

 

Hard to believe such a small piece of metal makes such a big difference.

 

I want to try these out so bad...they just need to get em out for the rest of the Hondas! Way to go on scanning the article too because there has been much skepticism about this product.

No outside technical analysis, and no legit racers testing the parts... basically the "article" was paid advertising.

I don't know whether these "frame locks" are worth anything, but I do know that I'm totally unimpressed with the "journalism" displayed in that crappy magazine.

I disagree.

The discription of the inherent structural weaknesses of the front fender/bumper support area of a honda seem to have been identified and nicely reinforced (and would probably come in handy for some Honda Challenge racers).

The post install summary by the owners of one of those cars also showed an extremely positive improvement in before/after road feel.
Lastly, the pictures helped the rest of us decide for ourselves just what this product is, how it is installed and what to expect as structural benefits.

A solid piece of work would have opinions from people more qualified, including engineers and road racers.

Representing a company's marketing documentation as a technical explanation is a good way to get fooled. It's critical to corroborate items.

 

isnt this why the jdm itr and ctr has no big bumper supports, and they are using a beam? i remember watching best motoring video on the type r legends, and the show pics of the bumper supports and called it like a brace bar or something. is what korbach is doing is using the big 5mph bumper support to act like a big rail brace?

This is a meaningless distinction. Why write an article if there's no detailed technical analysis? If you don't have a detailed analysis then it just becomes an advertisement for the product.

"good" idea based on your thoughts. Are you a road racer? Engineer? Amateur suspension tuner? If you have additional insight please share. If it's just an opinion it's less valuable to the peanut gallery.

 

i am a skeptic. like 90% of mods that we do on our cars, it might only be noticed at 9-10/10th. So, it doesn't concern me.

me = 5/10th driver.

 

 

I like em but I don't know how much I would pay for them. It all has to be equal you know. You get what you pay for, or at least you are supposed to.

They do add a great deal of strength to the front of the car. The ride is smoother and the car just generally feels stronger and more responsive.

For someone who is building there car to be as good as it can be, these are a good addition.

Yeah sways are next, its a daily driver so stiffer springs just isnt for me...LoL Nice car want to trade?

 

I read that article today and I am all for chassis stiffening. Just installed my rear sway bar and I can already feel a difference. I guess one step at a time.

 

Neat article. If it works, it's a great idea.

Only problem is this:

frame locks are a great chassis stiffener to use at the track, but they are by no means safe for the street. they mess with the structural integrity of the car. A car is designed with crumple zones...so if a n accident were to occur the airbag sensors would be set off, and that part of the chassis is meant to give. By using frame locks, and stiffening the crumple zones/srs zones, your just putting yourself at more of a risk while driving on the streets. pretty sure that these are not DOT legal. im not ******* the product by any means, they are great for the track, but i wouldnt recommend street use. my 2cents

i have been in a car with them, and it handles really nice. no, i dont curently race at the track
