Default ATTENTION!!! Auto Turbo dudes....

I was wondering if my car was fucked up, or if this was a common auto. prob w/turbo.... here's the deal: whenever im accelerating at 30-70% throttle, when my car shifts, sometimes (maybe 50% of the time) the RPMs fly up at least 2k RPMs, kinda like the car gets stuck in neutral b4 the next gear engages. it never happens at 100% throttle and rarely at low throttle. it's always done it and im pretty sure its just the shitty auto tranny. just need input, thanks!

When was the last time you changed your trans fluid? Try that first. My trans has held for over a year running 10lbs. Just my 2cents.

That's what exactly happens to mine too. I put more auto trans fluid in mine and it shifted a little better, but it still didn't solve the problem completely. Been using the auto tranny for almost a year now w/ turbo and about 3 years w/out turbo and it's still holding up quite well... I hope.

I would also like to know how to fix this, if there's ever a way to fix it.

same thing happened to me. the mechanic at acura told me the oil pump in the tranny failed. then i converted to five speed only cuz it takes a lot of beefing the honda auto and still...it will fail mechanically as i have seen with a level ten built auto in a del sol.

When my car was still auto it had the same problem but only from 2ND to 3RD. You may want to check you shift silinoids. I found that my 3rd. gear clutch syl. was sticking at part throttle. replaced it and problem went away.

It does that in my ls auto turbo, but not quite 2K rpms. I'm wondering if it's because of the auto tranny computer. At partial throttle, the computer is allowing for lower line pressure resulting in softer shifts hence the flare up. At full throttle, the tranny is shifting at higher line pressure. I'm not that familiar with Honda autos, but that same problem was happening in my Maxima too and installing a modified valve body cured the problem.

BTW, where can one get a modified valve body for a Honda auto? Level 10?

yeah level ten can do it. they don't sell it i believe and you have to send your tranny in or case cuz i think they said it's integrated.
