Default mr. clean autodry, ok to use regular soap? (ive searched...)

well, first id like to say, that i have searched, and i found about 15, and i read through every single one of them and didnt get a good answer on this.

the general consensus on this is that the soap that it comes with, sucks.

so, (and i want the opinion of people that have DONE this, not THINK this) if i use my regular automotive car wash and then rinse it down with the deionized water, will i truly get a spot free dry?

if you have any experience with this, please reply.....

I have heard there is some that will work. But not an exact one. I dont see why it wouldnt work as long as it has about the same consistency.

i think it should work...i have one myself but never used another soap...but i think for the price of the soap that they make you use, it should come with more soap instead of that small bottle...like after 3-4 washes the whole bottle is almost gone

u shud be able to use diff soap cuz most of its getting rinsed off anyway. the thing that makes the car spotless is the deionized water.. no minerals and **** to form residue

actually the soap is the first step into making the car spotless. I read some where on the internet that you hve to use that soap for it to work completely. Also other soaps can clog the mechinism.

i tried using the mr clean autodry w/ meguires carwash...it didnt work. left spots on my windshields and the water didnt "run off" like it did w/ the mr clean soap. i will try the procedure again after i buy a new filter for the mr clean autodry to make sure that my filter is not an issue.

The Mr. Clean soap strips off wax. It sucks. I use the "gun" with Meguiars and just use the normal rinse and then an Absorber to wipe off the car. Easier than getting a bucket to use.

i hate using the soap feature. i just wash it normal, bucket and a sponge, then spray the auto dry after. it works fine
