Rusting out?
A couple of years back my I took my 5th gen in for new rotors and brake pads. I was told that the frame underneth my car had a good deal of rust attached to it. My accord was previously from northern Pennsylvania where snow is plentiful durring the winter months. So salt deposits were the culprets for this. My question is before I were to start spending some big $$ on the car is there anyway to fix this problem? or am I screwed? I will have it checked out in about a month by a diffrent mechanic when inspection is due. Thanks
during the winter, i take my car to the coin car wash nearly once a week.......powerwashing the undercarriage gets out all teh salt and the impacted slush and stuff......if its not bad, it could be sanded down to fresh metal, and then recoated with that **** they spray on down there
i think your best bet is to sand it down and then have it recoated, that might be the only thing you can do if you are planning on keeping the car for some time, it will be costly, but once you sand it down and they coat it again, you might even be able to get it coated with something more heavy duty
