You're kidding, right? You want HID lighting in your spoiler? Sorry, not going to happen.

Headlights and fog lighting are pretty much what you're limited to when it comes to HIDs.

Just recently have kits been developed that are for single bulb systems that allow you to retain a high beam. This is because they aren't practical for high beam lights due to the warm up time that they need and they are usually installed in housings that direct light in certain areas. Not to mention as high beams they would be blinding. But that's not to say that it's not been done.

I'm not sure if it's still up, but there was a forum that would give you loads on info on them. HID Forum

Xenondepot is a popular choice. They use Philips bulbs and ballasts. Not too difficult to install.

HID is the type of headlamp. Xenon is the usual noble gas that the bulb is filled with.

I put some HID's from an 04 Maxima onto my car. It was a very easy process to do. I just had to cut my harness off, then splice the wires and connect them to the wires for the HID's...Its only 2 wires that you need to connect...I don't have my digi cam right now, but if I get it anytime soon, I'll post some pics

Couldn't there be a huge wattage difference that would blow a fuse? And i dont really understand how you said you did that.

They've been working fine for me for. I haven't ran into any problems. I kept the same fuses in and the bulbs fit fine into my headlight housing.

No, HIDs use the xenon to trigger light - not like the usual filament style bulb. And you would need the ballast also to use HIDs.

And if you do HID's, do not use any aftermarket kit -- buy an OEM retrofit (I am selling one BTW). OEM's will have a much better light output and brightness than any aftermarket kit.
