Default Virgin P28 in Prelude.......Any problems

I'll be going to pick up a "virgin p28" from someone locally but i wanted to make sure it was working correctly.

1.) If i install this ecu on my car and let it idle, maybe drive for few mins to check it will i throw any codes?

2.) If so can i check the codes like i normally would with the p13 installed?

3.) Should i throw any codes as a result of installing this on a prelude?

I know that it will run very lean, etc., etc. I just want to be sure the ecu is working correctly.

if you plug p28 into your prelude, without being modified (such as hondata) and then tuned to your car, your car will not run well.

Also if you are running an obd2 computer and wiring harness you are going to need obd2-obd1 harness.

You should be fine idling the car on the ECU, we do this all the time to check various customer ECU's. It shouldn't throw a code either, but if it does you can check it just like normal. I wouldn't suggest running the car on the P28, although if anything you'll probably be rich...

Awesome, thanks for the responses. I just wanted to make sure the guy wasn't selling me a bad ecu.

I'll be keeping my p13 till the hondata is installed w/ basemap.
