How can you make the A/C Clutch engage?
My wife has a 95 honda civic, and I replaced her old A/C compressor and I have installed a new one. However now the new clutch will not engage so that I can place new 134R coolant into the system. How can I bypass the clutch and make it think that there is enough so that I can add more 134R? Anyone have any ideas?

From: I told you to wait in the truck in Texas, United States
With full gauge set:
With the vehicle turned off, turn the can or jug upside down so you get liquid..
Open the high side **** on the gauges and allow it to fill until
the low pressure side starts to rise and you will hear the low pressure switch click..
{Be careful not to overcharge using this method}
Low side tap only:
If you are trying to just access the system from only the low side,
you will probably have to jumper the pressure switch..See this pic for reference: http://www.binghamtonlife.com/...3.jpg

88,
thanks for that information, I still have a question. What do you mean if I were to do the low side only tap, to do the "jumper" the pressure switch? This is the "Project" that I have set aside for myself this weekend. Your input is GREATLY appreciated!

the pressure switch opens when the psi in the a/c system falls below a certain level.
jump this switch by locating and pulling the connector and sticking a paperclip or something similar into the connector (closing the circuit). this way the a/c system thinks the pressure is high enough not to hurt the compressor and the compressor clutch will engage.

the reason the clutch will not engage may be because of when you put the new compressor on did you check to see if the gap on the clutch was right.
i suspect that the gap is to big.
this is a comman problem when putting a new compressor on.
was it a new compressor from honda as if so you should have had some washers with it that are diffrent sizes and all you do is use the one which will give you the right gap.

Gentlemen/Ladies If they are the ones that responded.?!
Thank you for your input, I now officially have an A/C that works. All I had to do is turn the can upside down and have the fluid enter into the system while the car was off and then I started up the car and then the clutch engaged..... Hot digidy Damn!
Thanks 88!!
