Thinking about getting a Full-Race kit myself in the near future. For those that has had them and have been running them for quite some time, would you care to give us an in-depth review of them. Have any problems surfaced regarding structural strength of the manifold or general contruction of the kit?

I've got the full-race kit on, but haven't been able to drive my car just yet. The construction of the manifold is outstanding. The only problem I ran into was with the intercooler piping. It was a bit long and I needed to have it cut and my intercooler is a little tilted, which I'm sure can be easily corrected with a few minor adjustments. All in all still the best kit on the market, IMO. to Full-Race.

 

Mike, you should write a full review of it once you get everything running.

So which kit did you go with and what are the specs on the turbo. Did you opt for the backdoor intercooler piping?

 

I actually didn't buy the whole kit at once, I just kinda bought everything at different times.

I've got the prostreet manifold, full-race back-door intercooler 20x8x3, throttle body to intercooler I/C piping, tial 38mm wastegate (which I had from my previous setup), t3/t04E .60 trim and .82 a/r stage 3 wheel, Tial 50mm blow off valve, 3" downpipe, and the clamps and couplings from full-race.

 

Len I too was considering full race, 3 my buddies have the manifold and its great but I decided against it because for my hp goals just didn't make sense for a full race manifold just look at Jason Hunt Rev Hard turbo kit

 

I've had the full-race manifold for about 4 months so I'm not sure if you consider
it long term but I will say I've used it alot. I have about 6-8 500whp pulls on it and
I drive around with upper 300 lower 400whp EVERY day. The manifold looks
beautiful and works even better...it gets alot of attention.

 

Ive had my full race kit for about 3 months now. 6500 miles.. 3000 miles was going to expo.

My expierences with full race are nothing but positive. Those guys seriously take care of there customers. I cannot express to you how much they've taken care of me.

If you get a full race kit, i promise you will love it.. If you would have came to expo, i would have let you go for a drive...

How about the manufacturer claims a lifetime warranty on the piece. Doesn't get any longer term than that.

 

I've had the Stage 3 AC kit for almost a year. I may sound bias, but I definitely love it. It totally kicks the **** out of my Drag3 kit . The only problem that I have with it is that I don’t get traction with cheap tires and I use to shoot my intercooler piping off of my car with crappy couplers. Once I shot it across the highway and we couldn’t find it, we think it disintegrated .

 

I would like to hear some long term info too... Henry have you guys done any rsx turbos lately? what's the cost of a kit? would like to get around450-500whp on pump gas?

 

I have had my full race kit for about 1.5 years now on my hatch. I have around 5,000 or so miles on it. The manifold itself has seen close to 100-150 dyno pulls between tuning, testing for my intake manifold i designed for school, getting familar with my dyno, etc. I dont daily drive my car, but when its taken out i beat the living **** out of it. If you are looking structurally at the manifold, mine has taken probably 500 heat cycles from full warm up, to full cool down. The expansion and contraction of the metal is at its most severe under these conditions, and the areas prone to cracking (those in tension) have not given a single hint of doing so. The welds are all back gased, so inside of the runners/collector the welds have not "sugared" or crystallized from lack of inert atmosphere (no argon shielding the weld area). Between supporting one of the heaviest turbos (t3/67) unbraced, severe operating conditions and long term usage the manifold shows no sign of cracking. I would not even hesistate to say that the manifold could sustain 10,000 hours of severe conditions and last.
