I don't think it's the mirror tint itself that's illegal. It's how much reflection the tint has that makes them illegal. Most state only allows up to a certain amount of reflection. But yes, in some states they are illegal.

Heh, I just did mine with 5% on the back 3 and 15% on the front, but just a charcoal black, no mirror. Yes, completely illegal. Cali law says something like, "tint must not increase reflectance of the glass", so any mirror effect is illegal. Whatever, I doubt a cop will pull you over for tint, but if you get pulled over for speeding or something else, it could very well just get tacked on. I'd also roll both windows down while you're pulling over, just so its not visible when the cop walks up.

I have I guess you could call it mirror... What I had on my old car was called metal tint. The guy told me that it actually has nickel and some other types of metals into the tint to make it look the way it does... I think it cost me 150 dollars for all around tint for 15%.

Bullshit or not, you decide!

yeah dude. i lived in san jose and two of my homies got fix-it tickets for the mirror tint. they both got pulled over by sjpd (or santaclarapd) just for the tint. ride cautiously.
good luck.
both of them had to pull it off.

ps both happened like 2-3 years ago. you remember how it was back then. cops were all over the imports.

yeah the % is the amount transmitted not absorbed. thus lower % = darker.

check this for all the states tinting rules as of last time that site was updated.

Yup! It varies State to State. Don't quote me but I'm 87.56% sure that you can go as dark as you want behind the front passenger window. Hell I think you could technically spary paint it black if you wanted too . Just call up the police station and ask about the front windows. And yes you can get pulled over just for window tint and yes they do do that. I think it looks good if just black, and worth the risk.

Make sure you put a 2fast2furious sticker there too!!!!!! BLING!!!

35% on front window in NV. The interesting this I read is this:

Enforcement Note : Tint law does not apply to 1993 or older model cars that had tint applied before July 1, 1993.

Hm... 1993 Integra... I wonder if I could get whatever I want now?

What? Maybe in some provinces but not Ontario. My Jeep has all tinted windows and I have no problems with it ever.

It verys from Province to Province, State to State, local to local. My cousin lives in Michigan and can't have tint on the front 2 windows.
