Default MC (Master Cylinder) Swap ?

Alright, everyone my MC went out. Well, that is mine and a friend's conclusion. To make a long story short - my brakes went out omw home from work. I took apart my rear drums and the left wheel cylinder was gone. Well, we changed the rear shoes, the left wheel cylinder and had the drums shaved down. We bled the crap out of the brakes both front and back to get proper pedal feel you know but after a few countless attempts at bleeding the brakes and 2 test drives it maybe got about 5% better feel. We practically went through a quart of brake fluid.

I have a 90 Honda Civic Dx for the infor. Can you guys just reasure me my questions ? I searched and everyone says something different. I also have DA front brakes.

A) Well, I know that the EX 4 dr MC is a direct bolt on to my booster with no rebending of lines?

B)Also, I know the 89 accord lxi is a direct bolt on too but you have to rebend the front line ?

C) Also, the 88-91 2.0 SI prelude MC bolts on directly too but you have to rebend the front line as well ?

Good Day,
RH.

I had a 90-93 Integra MC and Booster. Get the MC and booster. Big MC pushes more fluid and big booster allows more pressure with less effort. A winning combo.

it is really up to u but if u ain't going to change out the booster also then just stay stock....

and if u going to upgrade the motor then get the DA combo

if u want a stock one I have two MC's and one booster

as I installed the ITR in my project but have a extra one as I change one for a friend for the lude one but didn't feel that much of a difference expect the locking up is a bit easier to do now

Anyone Esle ? Someone that has had any of the above MC's ?

Did you have the rebend the brake lines with the DA MC and booster ? How much bending was needed ?

Good Day,
RH.

I have used an Ex MC with the CRX Si stock booster. It was a direct fit, and I had no problems with it.

Check out Driven's write up, http://thezam.org/kam/ (it's under 'Tech'...).
Also found here, without pics,https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=456037.

I prefer the simple 15/16" setup. The 1" Integra MC, requires a bit more work. And its only 1/15" more. That's not much. Plus it may get in the way of some aftermarket strut bars.

I have braces for the 15/16" MC too. See sig.

I have the 15/16" DA master and booster. The lines bolt right up, no bending or new flaring required. But, if you still have DPFI, you will have to unbolt the intake manifold to get the big booster in there.

A) The 90-91 EX M/C & booster will move over to the other Civics of the same generation as a unit. Strictly a bolt-on affair with no mods required.

Well, everyone I just ended up getting an 88 accord lx-i MC at a local junk. Direct Bolt on - No Problems with lines or anything. Now, I just have to bleed my lines and ride.

Good Day,
RH.

- toned down quote of Me after I trying fitting my brand new strut bar on with the ITR MC and booster.

ITR MC : 1
Strut bar : 0
